catbirdseat
At least when it comes to Jordanians... "Al-Zarqawi accused the Jordanian government of hiding casualties among Israeli and American intelligence agents, and he insisted al-Qaida in Iraq was not targeting fellow Muslims. "We want to assure you that ... you are more beloved to us than ourselves," al-Zarqawi said, addressing Jordanians. ...Yeah, right!
chucK
Probably more like "when it comes to Jordanian Republicans"
robert
You can't seriously think that there are a significant number of al-Zarqawi sympathizers in Jordan. That is like saying that conservatives supported Timothy McVeigh.
chucK
Not sympathizers, just people that like him the same or less than President Bush. check out Pew Global Research, for some information. I think it's quite naive to believe that Al-Zarqawi does not have significant support. You think he and Al Qaeda are doing all this on their own. A small band of bad apples? If that is the case, you must not think much of the US military and our allies who , I believe, are trying their best to combat Al Qaeda. robert
I am certain that they have a fair number of supporters, but that number is much smaller in the places that they have attacked than it is in the places where they live.

I find that hard to believe for amorphous nomadic organisations.
robert
If they didn't have good support where they are hiding someone would have taken the US up on the $25,000,000 bounty. If they had good support where they attacked, they wouldn't attack.
