WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

latest from the National Weather Service, regarding the forecast for next week:

Monday through Thursday: Periods of snow and rain. Snow level 3000 feet Monday rising to 4500 feet Wednesday and 6000 feet on Thursday. Afternoon pass temperatures in the 30s.

and that was for the west slope of the North Cascades, I would expect the other areas farther south will be even warmer...

this will be a likely scenereo (sp?) for this winter: lots of snow just below freezing then warming. all the same though, lots of good skiing to be had if you time it right! :-)

And flooding--the "rain on snow" events release so much water the earth can't absorb it. Should be fun!

We need not jinx the situation at hand here folks and think cold temps and light snow. This is the foundation forming on which we'll stand.
