WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

meadow's bc expansion

Recommended Posts

I gave him a piece of my mind by getting the timberline midweek... only 199 bucks and turns to unrestricted after march 31. I know it's timberline but hell Meadows gets chewed up so quickly with the hoards of 4x4's that I'll notch it down this year. Besides it's the first place i ever skied and that's made it a special place.

Timberline is okay if you are a novice skier who stays away from steeps. Meadows isn't that great but provides a little more room to stretch the legs and hit steeper shit.

One of my most heartbreaking moments in backcountry skiing was back in my early years, when a friend and I were skiing from the bottom of White River Canyon to the nice untracked bowl in W.R. just to the west of then "Texas". As we neared the top, after several hours of slogging and admiring this wonderful blank slate on which to carve our turns, 4 Meadows ski schoolers crested the ridge and poached line we had set our sights on. cry.gif

I know it is probably selfish, but I think I'm opposed to any Meadows expansion in White River. thumbs_down.gif
