layton
Hey, So i've got about an hour of truly amazing digital video footage i took with my friends camera. My problem is that i don't have a firewire jack on my laptop to edit from the video camera he has (only option to connect his camera to my 'puter as far as either of us know). Anyway, i've do two killer digital video tapes just laying around. I need to edit them down b/c 80% of the footage is unusable shakey, swirley, sunglaring crap. Any ideas of how i can either a.)hook the dig video camera to the computer so i can edit with Premier or b.)where can i go to edit and save the good clips to cd? thank you so much for helping! i will share my footage when i am done. mvs
I've seen cables that go from firewire on the video camera to USB. It is a slower method but should allow you to get past the problem.
EJohnson
Since you are posting this question in two different areas, I'm going post my reply twice. After extensive searching, I came across this hub that might work for you needs. D-Link USB/Firewire Combo No worries, I have fucked up ankle and can't do much anything besides sitting in front the computer. matt_m
you might want to go buy a firewire PCMIA card - the work around won't be as efficient as just plain firewire and unless you've got USB 2 that firewire to USB thingy won't have the speed to capture properly.
