ChrisAbajian
Planning to head up from Seattle this weekend. Wondering Chief campground: crowded, full? Other, better place nearby? Border crossing issues: is driver's license enough? Going to spend a couple nights in Vancouver. Inexpensive places to stay downtown? Smoke bluffs: nice place to go with semi-novice or am I tripping? Any beta greatly appreciated.
mec
[*]Chief campground: crowded, full? Other, better place nearby? yes it will be crowded [*]Border crossing issues: is driver's license enough? it has been in the past, last time I went through with just my license the canuck guards gave me more hassle about me getting back into the states than the US guards [*]Going to spend a couple nights in Vancouver. Inexpensive places to stay downtown? what do you consider inexpensive, unless you know of a hostel down there, everything else i have seen downtown is expensive [*]Smoke bluffs: nice place to go with semi-novice or am I tripping? yes, there is a lot of good, semi-novice stuff there. just don't trip on the way to the crag. thelawgoddess
Border crossing issues: is driver's license enough? you can usually get through but count on having to deal with bs, going into immigration/customs and getting your car searched. you're better off bringing a passport or birth certificate if you've got one. as for staying in vancouver, downtown is definitely not cheap. there is a hostel downtown. and another out in jericho. and there are much more affordable motels on the other side of lion's gate bridge.
