WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Rescue on Rainier over holiday weekend?

Recommended Posts

Heard a radio report of a fellow who suffered an apparent heart attack on Rainier a few days ago . . . any updates on the rescue effort or outcome?

Best wishes to all involved . . .

We had 6 rescues over the past 5 days. I'll try to post some text today/tomorrow... It was a busy weekend, thankfully no one was killed.

I hope those 4 guys we've met on Sunday at the Liberty Ridge are OK.

Here's the pic MikeG posted of the Kautz Glacier Chute.

This must have been Monday. We were up there Sunday morning and turned around above the chute at 12,400 ft and went back down.

Did you break a tool?

No, there was a team of two ahead of us. One of those guys did on the second ice step right below the transition back to snow.
