I thought we were maybe sissies at the time for placing flukes on the exit chute. I feel better now about that decision.

As a running belay or an actual belay? This over a picket? Was it pretty soft? I haven't used a fluke in years, but I guess that's only becasue a picket always seems to suffice. There are a couple of sections that are almost better to do in the dark so you don't see what the runout is like. hellno3d.gif

It was a running belay and we used three flukes. Pickets would have been absolutely useless, even as deadmen. This was winter conditions.
