soggyendo34 Posted June 12, 2005 Share Posted June 12, 2005 The two climbers where ascending the gib ledges. The fall happend at the top of the gib chute. The climber fell down the chute 800-1000'. As a running belay or an actual belay? This over a picket? Was it pretty soft? I haven't used a fluke in years, but I guess that's only becasue a picket always seems to suffice. Pickets would have been absolutely useless, even as deadmen. This was winter conditions.
