WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Sports drinks

Recommended Posts

Don't know if this is the place for this post, or if it should be in the gear shop forum. I'm looking for a decent shop in the Ballard/Downtown Seattle area that sells a variety of powdered sports drinks. Especially fluid replacement drinks.(not bigdrink.gif) Used to use SIS drinks but can't get them here, so help and advice needed. My taste buds aren't fussy, as long as it doesn't literally taste like crap.

Cheers

Stuart

I wouldn't really know since my "fluid replacement drink" rolleyes.gif is water (It's amazing how cheap the stuff is and how well it works!) However, if you want some foofoo techie shit, REI is a good place to check.

Be sure to wear your spandex walking suit when you go; you'll be able to get through the aisles 0.04% faster. It might also be a good opportunity to try out that new heart monitor; lots of stairs at REI. thumbs_up.gif

Maybe check that cycle shack place on the Burke Gilman near Fremont. Trader Ho's also stocks some sports drinks for cheap and good deals on energy bars too. But REI is probably your best bet.

any cycling or running shop--Greggs, Super Jock n' Jill, Roadrunner sport are all within a block of each other on Greenlake; Performance Bicycle in Redmond, REI, SuperGo (45th and I-5, more or less) in the U District, etc.

Most of the (powerade, gatorade, your-favorite-ade) are available at the supermarket for less. Buy powder in bulk to save $ and be more enviro friendly.

SuperGo on 45th just east of I-5 probably has the best selection and best prices.

I tend to like the BEKVÄM orange spiced UDDEN with the lemon spritz FÖRHÖJA on the side... yelrotflmao.gifsmileysex5.gif
