suckbm
What do you guys recommend as far as ice screw length for winter alpine ice climbs in the cascades? How many do you guys usually carry of each length?
DPS
ice screw length for winter alpine ice climbs in the cascades? 10 cm. But you'll end up tying them off short
Alex
I carry 3 10cm screws and 2 17cm TI screws for some routes where I think I might encounter ice. Perhaps a 13cm. For well known "real" ice routes such as Triple Couloirs in well-iced conditions I might carry more quantity.
