We are novices at climbing in conditions that require roping up...but we have had several opportunities to use our crampons and ice axes.....Mount Adams, Mount St Helens, Mount Daniel, Three fingers,etc. We are planning our first outing with an experienced climber on Mt Hood this weekend to learn more mountaineering skills and increase our confidence in more extreme conditions. Me, 52 years old and in great shape. My wife (who I refer to as Super K) is 48 and a goddess of the mountains. We hope to hear from you.
