WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Best President in History?

Recommended Posts

Without giving it a whole lot of thought...George Bush Sr.

He has lived an incredible life from WWII dive bomber pilot, to CIA director, to China Ambassador, to President and IMO was a true moderate. Clean Air Act, a case in point.

I sincerely believe he deserved a second term.

BTW....Clinton didn't receive 50% either.

Nope, neither time...mostly due to perot running both times. wasn't perot's 17% or whatever in the 1992 election a record for an independent?

A major difference between the elder shrub and clinton is that clinton was enormously popular, bush wasn't tongue.gif

Bush Sr. is so completely better than his son tho. I dont honestly know all that much about Sr. as a pres, but I dont think he is a genuinely fucked up individual like jr. is. Last time I checked sr. never had some illusion he was mandated by god either, unlike his whacko son. rolleyes.gif

Perot wasn't an independent, his party (Reform) is actually still recognized (Nader is using it to get on the ballot in some places I believe).

And I don't believe the 17% was a record for a "third" party either...what about the Bull Moose? TR finished second behind Wilson and the Republican Taft finished third.

Vote split was around 40-25-20 or thereabouts.

Enough with all of the negative shite. Who, in your opinion, exhibited competence and character in leading our nation to greatness?

What compentence, huh? Character, well I guess we have had some characters in office. A nation of greatness, oh yeah I forgot how great capitalism

for the common good of world.
