I plan to stay 8 days 4 on the mountain probably in the area of kaulz glacier...(best suggestion is welcome). but i have 4 mores days to play in the region! fear Posted June 2, 2004 Share Posted June 2, 2004 For a simple day climb: We bagged Mt. St. Helens while we were out there for fun after getting blown off Rainier. Easy ~5 hour climb up and down from the Climber's Bivouac.... Total whiteout, blowing 40-50, FUN! Monitor Ridge runs almost dead magnetic North-South so it's really simple even in a whiteout and not steep enough to really be a problem... cluck Posted June 3, 2004 Share Posted June 3, 2004 Right in MRNP is Tatoosh range. Directly south from Paradise. Lots of fun climbs up 6000' peaks.... anything from hike to 4th class scrambles. If you go to Tatoosh Range, Unicorn would be the "not to miss" climb.
