Stretch75
What are your thoughts on how to clean a rope. I've read to put it in a bath tub and clean, I've also heard to electrician coil it and throw it in the washer. The latter sounds iffy.... What do you think is the best way? sobo
Get a rope washer (or make one yourself out of PVC tubing) and hook it up to a garden hose bib and pull the rope through it a coupla times. Hang out on the line to dry under shade.

Alex
A front loading washer without and agitator might be ok, but I commonly just wash em in the tub. Thats enough to get most of the grit and dirt out. Certainly DONT put it in a washer with an agitator. You'll end up replacing the washer, in all liklihood
Dr_Flash_Amazing
Front-loader with some kind of mild soap does the trick. If you ain't got one, the laundromat has lots.

catbirdseat
The solvating power of supercritical CO2 is weak for hydrophilic substances, such as ordinary dirt. It would do a good job of removing grease, however.
