This is the beach at Fort Ebey State Park. We walked the beach for a few hours then headed for home. We were the last car on the ferry!

Mount Erie is out till the fall. Still no new guide book. 1281P3280009-med.JPG

When you say "MtErie is out till the fall" do you mean the Mounties will be visiting the Mt every weekend??? Do you know what areas of the Mt the mounties like to practice on? Are they at any of the Powerline, Orange walls or Snag Buttress? Are there parking problems if you want to park at the base? Don't they park at the trailer park area?

If you know answers to any of my questions thanks for answering them. Eerie

One of the groups was probably the Bellingham Mountaineers Basic Climbing Class. They had their Rock I field trip at Erie around this time last year. Of course they were wearing gators, it was warm outside and they were rock climbing too, why wouldn't one wear gators cantfocus.gif. From all the times I have been there and seen climbing classes, they have been using the summit wall, but thats usually where they are at.

Ha ha. Mountie size.

We hiked into Clamshell Cave in 11worth on Sunday, amazed by the lack of cars parked at the pullout. It wasn't until right below the crag we heard the tinkling of brand new hexes and the heavy thud of mountaineering boots. As we rounded the corner, we ran into the 30+ group of mounties wearing mountaineering boots, gaitors and shorts over poly pro. Classic. We bailed and went elsewhere, since the crag was top-rope sieged and we hadn't made a reservation.

They were waaay sneaky by carpooling. wazzup.gif
