tele_nut
Any thoughts on this ski area? Worth skipping Whistler to check out?
snoboy
When the snow is good, Red , right now it is truly Spring here though. Icy on the North sides, slushy on the South side. Whitewater, nearby is also good. Let me know if you have specific questions... And check out The Unred .
tele_nut
Thanks for the word Snoboy. Maybe I'll go surfing instead. Sounds like there is usually a good spring cycle of dumps though?
Eerie
I'd like to echo what SnoBoy wrote. The mountain has great, and I mean GREAT terrain. Just that it seems it would be exponentially better with fresh snow. Spring skiing/riding there?? Dunno about that...perhaps storm chasing to Red next winter would be a better decision. snoboy
March can bring good snow, as it can anywhere in BC. (graph courtesy of www.unred.com) We've got 2m or so right now, so it's a bit of a low snow year. It snowed a little today, but it was a tease... ARGGGHHH! joker
Hey snoboy - what's up with the cabins I saw off a few trails up high on the slopes at Red (one on Red Mountain proper, another near the top of Long Squaw, I forget if there are any others)? Privately owned and used?
snoboy
There's a whole bunch more. Yup, privately owned and used.
joker
Too bad - they looked like they'd be sweet to rent out for a few nights.
tele_nut
Went to Bachelor instead. A good mountain. Moderate, but plenty of terrain to explore. I'll hit the red next winter.
