Stephen_Ramsey
I accidentally punched a 1cm hole in the shell of my Scarpa Alpha boot. Does anyone know of a good way to repair it? I asked Black Diamond, and they said that because the shell is made of "Pebax", nothing sticks to it for very long or very well. Anyone out there know of a good sealant or epoxy for patching a hole in Pebax? Many thanks, Steve
Dru
1) seam grip will stick to just about anything. try roughening up the shell first with sandpaper 2) get a soldering iron and melt the pebax slightly around the hole so it fills in. DANGER 1) plastic fumes, 2) you will void your warranty.

snoboy
Stephen, I don't know what Pebax is exactly, but try talking to a good whitewater kayak shop, they usually know someone who can do plastic welding.
Bronco
I'm reminded of Dru suggesting that someone run a flame over their Schoeller jacket to get rid of piling not too long ago. Think her warranty is voided?
Dru
the problem was she didnt have pilling. she had "snags"
