Can you recommend bringing tele skis for an ascent/ski decent or should I leave the tele gear at home and bring the alpine boots? Thanks in advance. Saturday morning was firm above the magic mile to mid Palmer. Ski crampon firm. Not good skiing conditions. Had to be back by 7:30 so didn't get any further. Gaper_Jeffy Posted January 19, 2004 Share Posted January 19, 2004 On Sunday Heather Canyon was better then expected w/ a few inches of soft heavy snow ontop a mostly soft base. Other aspects weren't so good. The Hood Express bowls were classic dust-on-crust w/ an inch or less heavy new ontop a hard crust. Was wet--borderline snow/sleet all day.
