School v. Work:

Skip class, no worries, skip work...yo ass fired

Fail class, no worries try again, fail at work....yo ass gone

Don't like you prof, tell 'em to eat it. Don't like boss, suck it up and deal.

First class scheduled for 10am. Start work at 7:30am.

Class with 20s hotties. Work with 50s fattys.

School, 3 month vactions and two long breaks. Work, 2 weeks off.

BANG!!!!

I don't skip classes, they cost too much to blow off.

Fail class? Are you insane?

Don't like prof, deal with it.

First class 8:30 for the past four quarters.

School: 9 months of work, then three months of lab job.

And the biggest: work: get weekends off. School: spend at least half of every weekend studying.

I thought GT was such a tough school.

Some jobs will give you homework, but most likely not the amount you get at school.

However, I firmly believe that if you busted your butt 9-5 (or 8-6 or whatever) at school like most people do at their jobs, then you would have most of your homework done during that time. Undergraduate anyway.

Wait till you get into grad school, cracked. You get paid to teach the 20's hotties. You don't have to take classes every quarter (instead you schedule "thesis hours" yellaf.gif). You can take 4 day weekends and noone wonders where you are.

The downsides. For every four day-weekend you take. There's another one where you're stuck at your computer all weekend. The stress of teaching is worse than the stress of taking classes. You are expected to produce original, creative research, as though it's the end all of existence, but if you actually publish it, nobody gives a shit anyway. Your work is meaningless.
