WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

We've done these before, but ...

Libertarian, almost centrist, close to left-liberal.

Of the over 2 million people taking the poll, the greatest percent...35% were libertarian, second was centrists at 30%.

I'm considering Strickland's idea of voting Libertarian this time around. Actually, I've been considering it for a couple of months now. If more of us start leaning this way, they won't be wasted votes.

I suppose no one is surprised I come out solidly in the left liberal segment. Somehow I thought I might edge a little closer to the Libertarian end, but I suppose the fact I've gotten a little wishy washy on free trade issues is the only thing that keeps me out of the left corner pocket.

As much as it pains me to do so, in the next election, I'll vote democrat. It's going to be close in my estimation, and I'm not willing to waste a vote like I did in Bush/Gore. In '08, I go Libertarian....unless Hillary runs and it looks like she has a shot, then I'll put my vote toward the best contender opposing her.

It's a catch 22, if you have libertarian views and don't vote your conscious, third parties will never be viable, but if you do, you're wasting your vote. It's a "are you voting for someone, or against someone" decision. This time around, I'm voting against someone.

Left-Liberal

Left-Liberals prefer self-government in personal matters and central decision-making on economics. They want government to serve the disadvantaged in the name of fairness. Leftists tolerate social diversity, but work for economic equality.
