How many skis do you have?

The last thread where there was a discussion of whether you need separate skins for each set of skis got me wondering - just how many pairs of skis do you people have? I thought I was a gear whore with 3, but maybe not. I'm a XC skier working my way up to tele, so here are my 3:

1. long skinny XC skis, waxless base

2. shorter fatter bc touring skis, waxless base. These are super-cheap ex-REI rentals and are my "rock skis" for skiing on crap.

3. Teles (the only ones that require skins)

I wish I had more.

------

I think everyone should own a huge pair of DH boards for haulin' -- even if they only get used about once a year.

PS: Isn't the ski speed record from muir to paradise like seven minutes or something? An RMI guide told me the story a long time ago but I forgot the details.

...fourteen pair! But I use about a half dozen-seven of them mostly, and the BC tele boards most of all

4 main sets of tele boards... inbounds, backcountry touring, powder fat boys and one set rock skis.

one set BC metal edge waxless. one set xc touring waxable, one set wood xc skis. No randonee setups yet but am considering it

and then i've got a bunch of project boards and old straight downhill boards and some old skis best left to kindling, but it adds up to over a dozen boards.

I still need that next pair though....

I just have 2, one for my left foot, and one for my right foot. I want to get a fatter pair for hitting all o the powder we are going to get this year. thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif But I am sure that I am just going to suffer and stick with what I have because it works and skis are spendy thumbs_down.gif.

...just put tele bindings on another set of rock skis-

Research Dynamic Helidogs, free! at Snoq Ski Patrol ski swap this weekend, heel lifts, $14.00, and old Rattrap bindings with cables, $15.00, three bucks for shims, total investment into a new set of tele boards, 32 bucks and tax! Got to love it!
