WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Good website for knots?

Recommended Posts

Is there a good website out there for viewing what a knot looks like and how to tie the knots?

Looking for a site that has multiple knot options, and not just climbing types of knots. Just curious what's out there.

Actually what you want is called a book. wink.gif I don't know a great knot website, but The Ashley Book of Knots has over 3900 knots, and how to tie them. Very cool.gif

I own Ashley's Book of Knots. The knots he has as climbing knots are laughable. For example he has a modified Slippery Hitch for single strand rappels. You just shake the rope and it comes loose. hellno3d.gif A few of the commonly used climbing knots are found under other names and some are not found, for example the bowline with Yosemite finish.
