joe_catellani
"Pushing the Limits, the story of Canadian Mountaineering" is something like "Climbing in North America" by Chris Jones, on steroids. Its coffee table size book on Canadian mountaineering with hundreds of pics. Covers early days to modern hard core routes. if you're into climbing in canada this book is very inspiring. The Mountaineers Bookstore and Chessler Books are selling it for about $40, Amazon tries to rip you for $65. Chessler has a no question return policy, including return postage back. check it out! philfort
Oops, I got ripped for $65 by Amazon. Oh well, still worth the price, this is an excellent (and very heavy and comprehensive) book, highly recommended. It's got some American content too, since a lot of American climbers came and pilfered the cool hard routes in the cdn Rockies from the locals ) Great photographs, especially the selection of colour photos at the beginning of the book. Dru
Hey -it's not just Americans pilfering routes in the Rockies he's got Canadians like Hugh Burton and Peter Croft pilfering routes in Yosemite as well (although he missed out Croft's pilfering in Washington I guess because he doesn't think climbing in Wash. is pushing any limits...
