WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

lemme get this straight you are taking a *course* on how to use a frickin compass and read a map, which is all orienteering is, and your a SAR, my god what do they teach you???

It's not a class in orienteering, it is a course through which I, and other friends, will navigate at great speed. rolleyes.gifyellaf.gif

what's that, a thumb compass and Technu? no, this is just a course set up for a mtn rescue team to keep the mental gears oiled. orienteering comps would be cool though, I got a navigation tips lecture from one of the better orienteerers(?) in the country and he had some cool map techniques. I think geocaching is more fun though. Especially for climbers.

Anyone have any good rainy day hikes (5-10 miles total) that are fun to do within 2 hours or so of Seattle? Basically I need to get out of town and do something this weekend, but I don't have the whole weekend to really do something.

A friend just got a seadoo. I HATE those things, so I thought I'd go try it with him to be sure. Good thing to do since I'll be getting wet anyway!

They just changed the forecast for Vantage. It's suppose to be partly cloudy the end of Saturday and partly cloudy Sunday, not rain all weekend. laugh.gif

I think I'm gonna skin up the road and down to the trail to kennedy hot springs. Then I am going to force myself to sit in that cesspool of a hot springs as a punishment for the horrible drinking binge I subjected myself to last night. crazy.gif
