So anyone getting psyched about any particular climbs this spring, summer, or fall?

Anyone starting any training programs?

I'd personally like to slog up Rainier for the first time;

I also wanna climb Vanishing Point again, on the north face of Baring, an absolutely awesome (if terrifying!) climb.

I'm nervous about one other goal, for no other reason than the potential of total failure: The link-up of Californicator through Porn Star. I'm really having a hard time with doubts on this one, for some reason. I might be linking it with self-esteem issues, or somesuch. But with this goal in mind, I've started training power-endurance three or four times a week, concentrating right now on repeated sets of 80-120 move climbs, relatively stiff, 5 to 8 minutes in duration for each set, with about 5 or 6 sets per session. I figger a couple months of this, gradually tightening it up to much harder 30-50 move climbs, should start to get things ready. I'm psyched but nervous. Any suggestions on getting over this type of fear? Anyone familiar with it?

Anyone else getting psyched about anything in particular?

Have you considered actually training on the climb? Like running laps on sections of it until failure? Takes a lot of time, cuz you have to actually go to the cliff, but you have to admit it'll help to suss the route...

I'm going to try to put down a couple of my nemeses madgo_ron.gifmadgo_ron.gifmadgo_ron.gif out there...starting to suck weight...wanna drop about 10 to 15 lbs...

This is RURP:

Maybe Mr. Chocolate would have some good training buddies if he changed his faux chat room name to something less frightening. How about "Want to Climb Rainier Guy" or "Psyched to Go Climbing Guy". "Sexual Chocolate" and that old Moondance thing makes many people nervous. I am sorry that you have to hear this from someone on the internet, but I am just trying to help you achieve your climbing and training goals.

RURP. Get bent. Who fucking cares? If a person makes a good partner, I'd climb with them if their stupid internet handle was "Serial Climbing Partner Rapist" or "i_m_gunna_kil_u", "RURP", or should I say "Internet Dickhead Guy".

You lose that much weight and we're going to have to bolt you to the ground when the wind gusts at the Morning Glory Wall. yelrotflmao.gif

Yeah. But too cold now for little si, at least for my sensitive and delicate fingers. I like to feel my fingers when I climb. Perhaps in the next few weeks, I'll find myself there.

So if you drop 10 to 15, what'll your body fat precentage be? Just curious....

Yeah RURP, I hear ya man. When I first posted here a couple of years ago, my intentions were hardly to become a "regular", as you can probably tell from my bio and avatar. I thought I'd just troll around a bit, have fun, which I did, but then found myself hanging around and posting for real stuff. Somehow never changed my avatar to fit my m.o., so now I'm kinda stuck. But you can call me sexy cocoa, if that makes you feel more comfortable. Or maybe Sexy Candy. Sexy and Sweet? How 'bout Lovetron? I'm sure you'll think of something, dear.

lose weight, go mountaineering

after the "ihimaT" trip my love handles went from being slopers to crimpers... 12 hour day on one HCL.gif and one chocolate bar does it to ya.

Yah, but you lose "haul" muscles in your back and forearms...not the kinda weight I want to lose...

Lessee, the red and white taped problem, then the green problem...

Actually, it will be good to get a few early-season numbers at Smiff - a few easy .12's will justify the connective tissue damage over the winter.

As soon as Squamish opens up/dries out a bit, it will be a good year to knock off a bunch of the classic multi-pitches I haven't getten around to doing - everything for Snake to Angels Crest to the Grand Wall, as partners and my lead head allow.

Sexy Cocoa-Puff - you going to be part of the usual suspects at Si on Tues/Thurs this year? I'm planning on getting in at least one day a week this season, depending on my schedule.

Oh, yeah, that orange problem.

I wanna get back into sport climbing shape. School takes too much damn time and flailing on snow in the mountains doesn't do much for my forearms. Personally I want to get my ass kicked on Churning, for the sake of flailing, get over my fear of short sport falls, and send some 12s. Too bad ice climbing is SOOO much cooler than rock. So if anyone needs a sport partner this spring, I'm willing, if weak.

That's a good point...I can usually tell if i go to low, cuz my benching falls off--> time to gain weight...

This weight is coming off matter of factly...its not cuz of diet...wife wants to run a marathon, so I'm joining her for the long runs...just have to watch the knees hellno3d.gifcry.gif

Yeah, I'm psyched about getting up there. I'd liek to stay psyched and focused this year. often ive gotten into it for a couple of weeks out there, then jsut kinda lose interest. twice a week for a bit wud be cool.

Just ran into marcus at rei, he's psyched too, and getting really close on chronic. its been cool to see him progressing through the grades, doncha think? im psyched for him. once it gets into upper 50s, its time again! woohoo!

Yeah, it's the only time I've really projected much - I don't put much effort into pulling numbers otherwise. Hopefully I can sink my teeth into something there and make for some consistent attendance.

Yeah, Marcus is wacked. That boy has some sick focus- I wish I could get just a bit of his focus/obsession - lessee - 2 season passes, training up for marathon-distance run, heading chronic-ward. 'course, it helps to be underemployed at the OutdoorBorg.
