WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Spring Ski-in Oregon Style

Recommended Posts

Would anyone be interested in getting together for a backcountry ski-in in either the Wallowas or Anthony Lakes?

Wallowas has that added benefit of ice climbing as well as proximity to Terminal Gravity brewing. Both destinations about the same distance from Portland.

Had not advanced that far in the planning stages. March/April time frame? Probably April.

Another option I just thought of would be the Sisters.

Sounds like you and B-rock need to share a tent. You can join his crew of rigid friends.

Sisters can be a real pain.

So maybe the SSOS goes to Anthony Lakes then.

You guys'll have marched all over the Sisters already.

Isn't Anthony closer to the bigdrink.gif?

A. Lakes is still a few hours away from TG's. The access is great there but it's a little more limited than the Wallowas, as far as ski terrain goes. It would be good for a weekend though. The Wallowas would really have to be a multi-day adventure from PDX I think.

I'm not likely to be unleashed for more than a weekend so my vote is for A-Lakes.

Yes, I do have a dirty mind. the_finger.gif
