WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Trip: Mt. Index - Lake Serene photo trip

Trip Date: 03/23/2021

Trip Report:

I did a morning hike up to Lake Serene last week to fly my drone and get some new views of Mt. Index. Thought some of you might enjoy a couple images.

Gear Notes:
DJI Mavic 2 Pro

Approach Notes:
I thought there would be a good boot pack but the last traverse was snowshoed and I punched through a bit.

Awesome, Jim! Would be cool to see drone shots of the "extreme snowboard" route on the NE face somewhere put up a few years ago.

Those are incredible! Definitely the best picture I've seen of the north face. Would you ever consider taking close up photos certain faces upon request?

Thanks for the comments guys. Michael, sorry, but I'm not interested in the close-up idea. I have heard though that many climbers around the world are getting drones for just that reason. Here in WA many places would be off limits though because of the no drones limits in national parks and wilderness areas.

a new take on the John Scurlock mtn photography!  surprising detail for a drone camera but what do I know about such things?  bravo!
