  1. Looking for a partner(s) to join me on a liberty ridge climb on rainier. Ive climbed via the kautz previously and will be taking a buddy up DC June 5th but would like to try Liberty ridge some time this year. I have tent, rope, small stove, all personal climbing gear and have previously taken a crevasse rescue course on Rainier. Some of the other climbs I've done are Shasta Casaval Ridge, Whitney Mountaineers route, Torreys peak via Kelso Ridge in the winter and recently attempted Island peak in the himalayas (bad weather turned us around).Experience in ice climbing, crevasse rescue and glacier travel are a must. PM me if interested!

  3. Crampons found last week on the way down from Camp Muir. Message me with the details.
  4. Fellow climbers! Has anybody recently got on the Kautz route on Rainier? I climbed the Fuhrer Finger a couple weeks ago, and on our way up, there were plenty of folks who were shooting for the Kautz coming down because they heard that it was no good. I also heard from several IMG guides that it was no good. Unfortunately, none of these people had actually seen the would-be uncrossable obstacle in person. I did give the rangers a phone call asking about conditions, and they said that things were normal up there though. I'm yet to see a trip report here or a route tick on Mountain Project, so I am not quite sure what to believe.. Any good info would be much appreciated! I'm hoping to go up there this upcoming weekend.
  5. All done. Just don't know how to take the post down.
  6. Looking to join a team to rope up with on upper mountain via Disappointment Clever on June 23 and 24. I have experience in the mountains, in good shape and I'm self-sufficient. Late 20's male with good attitude! Please respond to this or email me at kotlarek44(at)gmail(dot)com
  7. Hi all, Anyone been on Rainier recently? A buddy and I are gonna try to squeeze in a Liberty Ridge climb (up Lib Ridge, ski down the Emmons) in the next couple weeks (shooting for sometime before May 13th). I know it's still early season, but I was wondering if anyone had been up that way recently? I saw the aerial photo up on the Rainier Climbing blog, but haven't found much beyond that. Thanks for any conditions beta!
  8. My climbing partner just cancelled because of a dislocated shoulder injury, and I have already booked my flights to Seattle for 8 days. I am a fairly experienced mountaineer, having done Aconcagua, Elbrus, Mont Blanc and Kilimanjaro in the past (without guide). After this week in Seattle I will fly to Anchorage to attempt Denali. However, I do not like the idea of doing the glacier travel on Rainier solo, so I would love someone to rope up with. I am a 22 year old Norwegian, and are currently studying for a Master of Science at MIT in Boston. I have all the gear necessary except tent, but I might be able to borrow this in Seattle. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions! tlf: 617 710 9297 Facebook: Thomas Lone Email: thomasel@mit.eduClimb on!Thomas
  9. I am planning to be in Washington for few weeks during Mid Spring Season of 2018. I am interested to attempt - Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier and other Possible peaks around the area. Looking for partner to climb with. Regards TG 414-870-0032
