    Bear Spray?

Dr b I published this stuff months ago. You should of looked in the gallery b/4 Snoboy deleted it as none climbing related. hahahahaha...But thanks for doing this again as it shows what these city slickers here in the PNW think is a good thing to carry. Most believe that a 44 mag is good enough and it ain't unless you have nerves of fucking steel and you are a perfect off the cuff shot. Me, I'll stick with the 12 ga and the arrangement of buck shot to slug I was taught by the real professionals...fish counters. How about it Dutch and Glacierdog?
  2. After God had created Man he stepped back and admired his work: "Look at this perfect physique, the strong but yet handsome features, the well balanced proportions, I have to say, I am in awe with myself." Then he turned and looked at the Woman. After he had been studying her for a while he said: "Well, I guess you will have to wear make-up."
  3. Knives and guns are stronger than flesh, I'll run too.
  4. I can't say. I might be accused of threatening people on this site.

    WILD!!

Who the fuck cares. Hi pointers get nailed every year. These are the same ass holes that give sno-goes a bad name. I have used sno-goes for years for hunting caribou, approaching ice climbs, hauling lumber to remote sites for spring projects, hauling fire wood, water etc. Hi pointers are the perfect example of "FUCK WITH THE BULL AND YA GET THE HORN"! And I do not say that lightly 'cause a very good friend's son caused one of the biggest hi point accidents in Alaska that nailed three or four people in Turnagain Pass area. Sad, but its what you get for playing with dynamite. Here is the link if anyone wants to read it. I would of posted it but its too damn big. http://www.csac.org/Incidents/1998-99/19990321-Alaska.html
  6. Robert if you are going to do this go to a shop that makes the boots custom for you feet. I had a pair made Austria many years ago. They were the best boots ever!!! Break in was sooooo EZ. The original Swallows Nest too the measurements and sent them to a fella in Austria. Go custom if you can you'll never regret it.
  7. http://www.turnstep.com/Faq/sauna.html And for those of yo to LZ to click the link. Should I use a steam, sauna or hot tub right after a workout? Since the blood tends to pool in your extremities after a vigorous workout, and steams, saunas, hot tubs and even hot showers tend to dilate your blood vessels, it is really not the best thing to do as it will be more difficult for the blood to reach the heart and brain. However, if you've done a thorough aerobic cool-down, and you wait a reasonable amount of time to return to almost normal, you might go into one of these "fun" things. But if you feel any sign of weakness or dizziness, get out immediately.
  8. Lets see...I have seen a post card of Shuksan in a store Bishop, CA (1970s) that stated it was a mountain in California. Mt. Shuksan also appeared in the background shot during a deer-hunting segment in the Deer Hunter. The story line was supposed to be SE Ohio during this segment of the film with the remainder of the film supposedly being shot in Viet Nam. I believe because of the inherent beauty of Mt. Shuksan greeting card, post card companies and others take liberty with its actual geographic location. But this does not release the error of the original thread to poetic license with regard to the correct location in a textbook entitled Geography of Washington.
  9. Jason, Trask and Dan Public schools are indeed a zoo. I am in the quagmire of hell right now: a first year algebra class that thinks its fun to flunk. The bulk of this class think shit is good and shit will buy BMWs good homes etc. I have seen union reps (good ones) try to help principals with teachers that need to be on plans of improvement. Guess what? The rep and the principal are usually bitch slapped. The union Rep was removed from his position by the union and the principal by the administration and school board. See school boards and head shed administration are afraid of lawsuits from parents, disgruntled employees etc. Apparently the public sector does not win in court very often. In fact in the 20 years I spent in the school system in Alaska I never saw the school district go to court. They always settled out of court. Pick and chose students. Wow, would that be nice. As a wrestling coach I actually experienced a wee bit of this. The kids removed themselves. Sure I was left with some thugs, and slugs but they wanted to wrestle, so I had a handle on attitude and work ethic. If my wrestler did not measure up academically I pulled them until their grades improved. I ran a 45 minute tutor session before we went to practice with the rest of the team. Parent involvement is very important to success for some kids, but not all. I think what a lot of kids want to hear and experience is a pattern for discipline, study time, etc. If these guide lines are made plain and simple most kids will conform to the plan. But then they need parents that are a roll model also, not some drunk, or drugged out piece of shit.
  10. I use oscillococcinum for the flu. It works real well on me and my daughter, but nothing on my wife or son. Go figure...
  11. If they ever make you a spray moderator, I'm gone for good. You suck. Count me in on that one Trask!!!!
  12. I'll take that under consideration, but first I'll come to your house to visit so the gift that keeps giving does not die out with me.

    Doomsayers!

FRIENDS OF MINE HAVE GIVEN UP HOPE ON THE MARKET. FORGOT ALL STOCKS AND WALKED AWAY FROM STRESS. THEY IGNORE THE QUARTERLY REPORTS AND SHRED THEM. THINKING THEIR CHILDREN WILL GET BACK WHAT WAS LOST IN THE FAR OFF FUTURE.

    Fleece Vests?

Marketing my friend, marketing. Wait a few years and THE vest will be back so you'll have to spend hard earned money on new attire.
  15. Yuk, I am infected with the flu...god how I hate getting sick. Head aches, joints hurt, hot one minute and cold the next.
  16. I had a principal in Alaska that would do that to me during meeting when he wanted support from the "Negative Bunch". We were the wrestling coaches and one basketball coach. It always bothered me that he would wink at me and expect me to gather in the cowboys to push the herd in the direction he wanted everyone to go. Without our support he would eventually push what ever agenda he had but it just took longer and did not get everyone on the same wagon heading west. His quote not mine. By he way he was a prick.

  18. Did you know that bear meat is the largest source of trichinosis in the US? Trichinosis goes like this in bears: Black bears have the least count per gram of body tissue, then comes grizzley having a slightly increased count and finally polar with a huge amount of the critters in their body tissues. Theory is the more carnivorous the bear the more trichinosis per gram of body tissue. Best bet on eating any bear meat is cook slowly in a crock pot and serve as a stew. I guess you could do the loins as a roast but again cook long and slow so its tender.
  19. "Absolute expert on the area is Paul Klaus of Ultima Thule Outfitters. He is also the air taxi I used to get in on. He's a legendary character and somewhat difficult..." This entire statement is SO true. Paul is on his way to being a modern Don Sheldon. Don established his rep in the 50s and 60s, so his record seems rather moderate but of the same vein. Remember this though, "There old pilots, there are bold pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots.
  20. That, Jens, is exactly what I thought when I saw their new marketing idea. The picture in the ad seems to show an over cammed cam.

    Got Parasite?

Dairy isn't very good for you anyway. Adults aren't meant to drink milk. I could easily live without it. There are all sorts of yummy sherbets to take the place of ice cream. And frozen soy.
  22. I'm with Parker and Perkins on this one. Falling is a BIG deal on ice. Lots of variables and very few constants.

    Got Parasite?

Relax, every living creature on the planet needs to make a living in some manner. Parasites just do it in a way that makes humans a wee bit uncomfortable with the idea. A good parasite will not kill you because then their food source is gone.
  24. RobBob , I fully agree. If the board feels that moderation is necessary save it for the other areas, but NOT THE SPRAY SECTION.
  25. It ain't that Cavey, its the company you keep. Gun runners, game dog owners, whore mongers, etc. Theys gots reeeeeligion. Maybe you and your company should take Bible classes.
