  3. awwwwwwwwww, I like the Samba dancer thumb nail. Very nice!
  4. My 84 year old mother was waling out of the post office today in Yooper Land when a blast of lightning struck a power pole within yards of her. She said she felt a rush of something, a flash and a big bang. She got into her Explorer and drove home. I told her she was very lucky. I can only figure that the lightning stayed with in the confines of the power pole and the transformer thru luck only. Wow, my mom...sure glad she was as lucky as her son.
  5. Nicely located for fishing the Stilly, climbing in Darrington, driving to US 2 is a breeze if you take the back road, Hiway 9 is close etc., as is I-5. contact Ed or Heidi at this number 360-658-5555 and they will take care of you.
  6. I can't say if our presence blows snow around, but I can say that our helicopter is a good distance away from any climbing rescue scene. We have an amazing zoom lens and can be up to 5 miles away from an incident and still get pretty good pics of the scene. So if I hd to guerss, I'd say that it is NOT our helicopter blowing snow, but rather conditions themselves...but I could be wrong... We try to stay out of the way and we certainly try not to make conditions worse than they already are! That is not so accurate my dear. I have been involved in a couple of rescues, because I walked in on accidents not with the guys, and I've had a friend involved in his own accident that has had media coverage. IN EVERY case we both experienced down wash from the MEDIA helicopter B/4 the rescue chopper could get there. Not so much in my case but in my friend's case the downwash made the blood that was spilled look even more dramatic than it had to be as it swirled about in frozen in the snow. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for your own company but I know this is not true for every media outlet. Hell, some of them even get a few holes in their chopper during police situations in CA.
  7. Has anyone here ever floated the High bridge on the Sky to Sulton? If so send me a PM on the trip. I've heard its a real nice float. Went out to the north end of the Sound today and paddled, but would like to do that float on the Sky b/4 I move out of the area this summer.
  8. Stealing is bad mojo but stealing from Fred is going to get someone some REAL bad karma one way or the other. A thief does not care who they rob, but this...well I'll just leave it at that.
  9. top secret loose shoes oblivion house I house II amazon women on the moon bagdad cafe These are B rated vids that are lots of fun. I can only think of a few at the moment.
  10. Fu is still in need of a good home. I am leaving the 48 states by October and will need a home for Fu. He has had all his shots, is decalwed, and neutered. He loves a family with no kids or other cats. Dogs are OK as he growls at them and they leave him alone. Hell he gets along with my Staffishire and that is something. Minx adopted our other cat and he is doing well, so please help us out and ask around for a good home for Fu. Oh, his color is black and white and he is part Siamese and something else.
  11. Aid gear is sole. I wanted to sell as a unit and that is what I waited for. Thanks for all the responces. Sisu

  14. Beck said, "What a bunch of crap. Go help the soldiers violate the geneva convention, why don't cha?" All I can say M. Beck is FUCK YOU, and I mean that very seriously. You can say what you want about the Prez, congress etc. but you keep your opionion to yourself about our troops.
  15. I am a Bush supporter, but this is Bull Shit. Language Arts and "Art" teachers encourage a kid to express thier feeling about something and then they smack them down for doing so? Fuck what would of become of Hemingway, Poe, Lovelace, Milton, etc. if they had been afraid of this shit. I can't really think of any great writers or artists that were not subject to this type of treatment but man this is a 15 year old kid being asked to keep a record of his feeling via drawings. GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK. THE MORE I READ THE MORE MY REPUBLICAN ROOTS ARE ROTTING AWAY.
  16. I started out with adult supervision as did my kids. A gun in a child's hand without adult supervision is beyond poor parenting, I hope this was your intent OW.
  17. Ditto, the Marysville store looks at my break drums and rotors every time I rotate my tires which is every 5000 miles. Personally I like 'em. BTW Catbirdest or what ever you are called. There are very few owned and opereated Les Schwab. A few years back old Les decided he did not have control over his owner dealers, so he started a buy back program. This worked with most of his owner-dealers. There are a few that were able to not sell back to him and retain their owner-dealer relationship. I believe one of those is a man in downtown Everett, but for the most part Les Schwab made the buy back a lucrative deal and many owners sold out to him. All this was told to me by a man that is a Big O Tire dealer. He used to own a LS place and he did not like what he saw, so he sold out and ran with his money. I guess the easiest ones to buy out were the ones in debt to LS and were happy to get out from under the interest. (this is the way it was told to me and that is all I know. if its all BS well then I am splatered.)
  18. 1. Semi autos for up land game and ducks as well as pumps have been around longer than when your parents decided to hae you as a child. 2. Pistol grip shot guns are what I and two of my fishing buddies use when out on the rivers; river sleds, drift boats, fly ins etc. 3. Military collectors spend lots of money building up their collections. I know several, have shot with them, lived with them etc. They are law abiding people. Why should they suffer because of a few bad apples? The laws governing assults and murders with ALL weapons should be made stronger and allow no pleas. I know this will not satisfy the antigun lobby but that is what Greg, myself and many others would like to see happen. I am done. I have argued with the antis on this liberal web site since I first joined. They will never be happy until they can say we won. We got everyones gun. I can tell you right now that will NEVER happen. Too many guns, too many people like Greg and myself. Guns are a part of my life like skis, ice axes, and fresh meat from the stream or the tundra. I don't go hunting to relish in the gore and guts. I like being out side. I like seeing if I can take an big game animal with my traditional bow or take upland game birds with my SEMI-AUTOMATIC shotgun or my over and under. My semis have lots of tradition for me I bought both at age 14. I had a paper route and saved money to buy both weapons. By the way both are Belgium grade. Does using a semi auto make me any less of hunter? I get to blast one more round, if I have my plug in, than a side by side or over and under. That is nice when you raise a big covey. Go ahead and rant and rave like little children and piss your pants in your rage. I am done and I am happy with what I do and what I have done. See you out in the bush sometime Greg. Sisu
  19. One of the web sites to check on Annabelle's progress and a small article about her and the TEAM. http://www.annabellebond.com/journal.htm Bond, Annabelle Bond. She had just finished filming a pilot episode for an adventure TV series she wants to make when her mother gave her the news. Annabelle’s mom had arranged for her to climb Everest. It was almost 70 years ago and a generation away that Annabelle’s Grandmother Christine was trekking high altitudes in Nepal, one of the first western women to do so. For Annabelle climbing is in her blood and it has been her dream to do the seven summits. Her first was Aconcagua, Everest will be her second. So Annabelle is at base camp with her Chilean teammates and finding the crowd quite intimidating. She reports from her latest dispatch; “David Breashears came over to our Puja ceremony, he is so highly regarded here that our Sherpas were all very excited to see him and most of them had worked with him on previous expeditions. I chatted with Steven Daldry and John Finch, the two directors of the movie that they are making, and we are all going into the ice fall for the first time tomorrow. I saw Ed Viesturs and met Jimmy Chin who looked very cool, he is an amazing climber apparently so I’ll be looking for all the tips that I can get from these guys”. The team consists of Rodrigo Jordan, expedition leader (Everest via the Kangchung face), Misael (K2 and Aconcagua), Ernesto Olivares (Makalu), Andronico Luksic, and Annabelle Bond. They will be taking the classic route up Everest. Image of Annabelle courtesy of Annabelle Bond
  20. Rare Venus event puts it between Earth, sun -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By Dean Regas Enquirer contributor The world was a very different place the last time a transit of Venus occurred on Dec. 6, 1882. This astronomical event is so rare, that no one alive has seen it. A transit of Venus occurs when the planet comes directly between the Earth and the sun. Venus is then visible as a small beauty mark on the face of the sun. So a long wait is over. On June 8, Venus will once again transit the sun and the eastern half of the United States can witness it. Transits of Venus crop up in pairs eight years apart, but more than a century separates any two pairs. The transit this June will be followed by another in 2012 (which will be visible in the western half of the United States). But don't wait for 2012 - it could be cloudy on one or both of those days. And I'm sorry to say that you won't live to see the next pair in 2117 and 2125. Here is the link http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2004/04/18/tem_skywatching18.html

    Israel and WMD

Read this and see if a weapons inspection is over due? My take on Israel has been and always will be that the US should drop all support for them and let them duke it out on their own. Its no different than feeding a wild animal and taking away their ability to find food on their own. Without the US dollars and military equipment Israel would be a hurting unit. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3640613.stm

    Free soloing

As for your threats against free-soloists; you are an immature fuck and if you ever do that shit to me I'll climb back down and wallop you with a big hex. You suck, "go gargle butt-gravy asseyes". Hey FF, "Yabo" = John Yablonski. 1970s era Yosemite climber who once fell from the top of "short circuit (12a)" and was saved by getting his shirt caught on a tree which bent down and deposited him gently and safely on the ground. He is also the person who, late one night while tripping "saw" midnight lightning (famous boulder problem in Camp 4) and woke up John Bachar and someone else and made them send it for him. Yabo’s Narrow Escape John Yablonski’s narrow escapes from certain annihilation have become the stuff of legends, but one hair-raising story that remains untold is about that cold January afternoon he made an impulsive decision to hitch hike up to Castle to spend the winter living in the cave the now bears his name. Standing with his thumb out at the bottom of the hill in Saratoga, clutching a modest bedroll, a 15-year-old Yabo watched apprehensively as an old white Chevy with a black tinted windshield pulled over. When the back door swung open, John jumped in only to discover – much to his dismay - that his fellow travelers were five evil-looking low riders from East San Jose with glazed eyes and sheepish grins. Before he could reconsider his poor choice of rides, the old Chevy roared off and began racing up US 9 at breakneck speeds, passing cars around blind turns on the inside, swerving back and forth across the center line, playing chicken with oncoming traffic. All the while his fellow travelers (except for the out-of-control driver) sat frozen motionless staring straight ahead as if hypnotized. Then, as if on cue, when the car turned left onto Skyline Boulevard at Saratoga Gap, his newfound friends suddenly roused from their collective torpor, opened up switchblades and began carving elegant arabesques in the air. Realizing that these few terrifying moments might very well be his last, Yabo opened the car door at forty mph and jumped head-first into eternity out over the stone guard wall toward the Pacific sunset. A few nano-seconds later, landing on his feet as usual, John picked up his bedroll and dusted himself off, none the worse for the cart wheeling cannonball fall he had just taken 50 feet straight down the steep rock strewn embankment below Skyline Boulevard. Was this the first instance of the infamous Yabo half-twist dismount? If you look closely, the smoke from the smoldering little campfire he built that soggy evening still blackens the roof at the back of the Yabo cave.
