  2. anyone got a photo of stacking pitons, like with an angle and Z I can use for the 2nd ed of my book? Free book!
  3. ivan and I should write the introduction with a little story
  4. i just use a biner and electical tape to stabilize it. Stronger than a plastic one, and being a lefty, most harnesses don't have the left side forward enough anyway. I also have just been putting screws on a shoulder sling recently.
  5. The safetech comp's only 11oz
  6. Metolius safe-tech Comp harness
  7. i left a huge list a while ago
  8. Thanks John, Both options are too expensive. My mom can line draw with pen and ink and volunteered to trace some photos or diagrams. I was hoping there was something that would magically turn my wavy lines and circles into something nice...or easy to use.
  9. I'm hard at work trying to add pics to my new climbing instruction book. Anyone have a suggestion for a program that someone with no drawing talent (me that is) could use? I have a computer with a touchpad/pen if that helps.
  10. Hell of a trip! Yes, the face on Sinister would provide some great climbing I think
  11. Therein lies the rub. I remember your fat ass almost breaking my anchor in Beacon Rock
  12. Ok, I always forget this and just want to double check with y'all. If joining two ropes with a knot, you want the knot/pull rope coming out of the bottom of the anchor to prevent pinching, right?
  13. If Edelrid is making the new Petzl ropes then they should be amazing ropes
  14. 5kN on the top piece - the paper states that you'd never exceed 2.5kN on the belayer.
  15. the paper states that forces never exceed 5kN in real world factor 2 fall testing (80kg mass) with a climbing rope.
  16. here's an article...only read the 1st few pages so far, but may offer a better explanation. http://www.outdoorlink.org/research-papers/part-5-belaying-lowres.pdf
