  1. That's not how Arcteryx does it
  2. pm me, and I can give second hand beta. Maybe draw a line on a picture for you.
  3. Another vote for Cascadian, love it. Not ideal, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way off this peak.
  4. yes, beautiful pics. Lunger, is your game more lebron or dwade?
  5. The Ptarmigans and their P trips, by Harvey Manning. Their Picket/Chilliwack trip was also rather impressive. Interesting that more than 70 years later, the Ptarmigan Traverse as per original party is very likely un-repeated. I like to go out to the the middle from Cascade Pass, and then return the same way. Avoids the car shuttle and you get to spend the whole time up high. The Dome area is great and worth it's own trip as well. However you do it, enjoy!
  6. nice, Stuart and Monkeys! I liked these 3, and High Ice.
  7. wow, that was great. I love it when the camera is right there. I liked the I think can fly video a lot too.
  8. does anyone use a prusik when simul-climbing for adjusting rope length between climbers, or reasons not to?
  9. Hey Mark, I've only been up the regular route via the ramp. Your new start looks sick. I guess you're getting to know that face pretty good. Next time get some video of the Rat style. The Rat/E$ route on Chair looks interesting, no?
  10. Yea. Interested to see a picture with your line, for this and your Chair climb too.
  11. diameter of the rope is one factor. petzl has some good info. for their devices that you might be able to use to have a sense of similar tools.
  12. big difference in impact force between belaying a second and belaying a leader.
  13. Dane, Thank you for this information. A great service to the climbing community, absolutely!
  14. I've played with this some. Found it useful to belay two seconds when I forgot my reverso 3. One thing I have not figured out is an easy way to release the load. This would be important for crevasse rescue (raising) or steep rock, to have something worked out for lowering if necessary.
  15. trad vs sport. fair ratings for those two climbs I would say, but no question which is the harder climb. good comparison Bronc
  16. Midway felt like solid 5.9 to me a couple weeks ago. Some key holds must be missing.
  17. The move right off the ground is pretty nice, not not as nice as the moves onto the tower. My favorite part is the second half of pitch 2 on the direct, not the direct direct, but the left variation of the 3 regular directs. Best move is the ones above the belay on p3.
  18. Can't decide between Midway or Angel on Castle Rock. S. Houser is nice but gotta go with Midway.
  19. 4 new trekking poles from Black Diamond and Grivel that pack up really small. Read about them here.
