  1. Hey y'all -- considering taking my first trip into the Pickets this next weekend, and I'm looking for some recommendations on what might be some good objectives to tag. I've viewed the amazing page on Summit Post by Steph Abegg and others and am trying to get my bearings. Does anyone have any REALLY awesome recommendations -- peaks that they're particularly fond of? Details about what we're wanting out of a trip: - 4 Full Days (Start Saturday early morning from TH, hike out Tuesday day) - No preference between Southern or Northern pickets - Something at least semi-technical -- open to great rock routes and feel comfortable on low/mid 10 alpine rock - Would love to avoid bushwhacking, and would happily walk some extra miles (heard this can be tough to avoid in the pickets) Would love to hear about some routes/trips y'all have enjoyed in the past!
  2. Damn! We ended up climbing Jeff on June 3-4th and had a completely different experience. We went up Jefferson Park Glacier and found the knife edge ridge climb to be in AWFUL shape. Partially covered in rotten snow, it was very hard to protect and we had to move very slowly to get across. We got to the summit pinnacle, and it was much the same story. Really rotten, soft, shitty climbing snow. I have a feeling we caught this peak at a really terrible time, but we super underestimated the technical challenges of this thing. Cool to see your trip went so well only 2 weeks back! Cool to see how much the mountain has changed in such a short period.
  3. Literally just getting into dry tooling, and it seems I couldn't have picked a better time. Thanks so much for all your hard work! I'll definitely be hitting these up.
  4. Looking to try to get up Glacier Peak at the end of September. For a first timer up the peak, would you recommend this route? We'd look at trying to do it in 3 days total.
  5. This is super wicked! Thanks for all the effort and the in-depth TR. Am going to love getting up this thing at some point.
  6. Yes, this the online permitting system is new this year. We climbed Adams on August 23rd. We had been told the day before by rangers that they would not be checking permits, but to be aware that if a rescue was needed it would be a long time until one came. There were quite a few people skiing at above 7000ft on the day we climbed.
