Hi Matt - I'm sorted now for partners thanks. Will be playing everything by ear depending on conditions etc nearer the time. Looking forward to playing in your part of the world.

We are both foreigners (my partner UIAGM) with NO knowledge of the NW so had planned to have a chat to the REI guys about access, conditions etc but probably start on St Helens or Adams and hopefully get some recommendations from other climbers. We would have probably tried something more challenging weather permitting (we had 8 days) but now I would definitely prefer to keep it non-technical.

A friend new to climbing and I will be in Leavenworth May 05/06. With only one outdoor session under his belt I am not excited about being lead belayed. Are there routes to 5.8 where I can set topropes? Low grades are best or we will be back in a Bavarian bar with pumped arms before lunch! We don't know the area at all so any information is greatly appreciated. Best guidebook for beginner routes? If anyone would like to join us I can regale you with stories of failed summit bids in distant lands and he of marathon podium finishes in obscure places!

Hi, I am a Japan based New Zealander and due to unforseen work commitments my climbing partner can no longer make our NW mountaineering trip. I am looking for a partner/s for any/all of the days May 7-11. I wondered if there was anybody out there who was up for something? I'd prefer snow but rock or hiking fine. Maybe Mt St Helens or Adams? I don't ski. I am an experienced backpacker, snow walker, winter camper but haven't done much technical ice. I'm happy to skype with anyone who might be interested in showing me around. I don't drive on the right so would need transport. More than happy to pick up the expenses. I will be in Seattle or Leavenworth but can travel wherever public transport will take me. 49 and female and in training for Mustagh Ata in June so stamina ok.
