  1. Apparently not many people want to buy a down jacket in July. So I am bumping this thread to see if there is any interest in the jacket. I have used this jacket now for one trip and it performed excellently, and I really wish it wasn't just a touch too snug or I would keep it. Looking to fund a portion of another jacket with sale of this one.
  2. [TR] Vesper Peak - Ragged Edge 9/12/2015

Eh, I have a poor memory for runouts anyway, they are always best forgotten about.
  3. Midnight Rock - Wild Traverse

Anyone know the state of the anchors on this thing? I read a report of the anchor on the last pitch being bad, is that correct? Any updates on the conditions would be helpful, really want to do this thing.
  4. [TR] Vesper Peak - Ragged Edge 9/12/2015

Yeah, it is a great route and a fantastic summit. Seems to be getting a lot of love this year. I don't remember any significant runouts though.
  5. Hey Matt, can you list those better protected routes for darrington noobs?
  6. [TR] Vesper Peak - Ragged Edge 7/3/2015

Nice report. We were up there this past weekend as well, and ran into you as you were hiking out. The route is definitely getting some traffic, there was a party of 3 or 4 above us. It is indeed a nice route and is likely to continue to see traffic, I think the word is out! We too spied that ledge from the lower col and thought it might be the route, but looked at the beta again to see it mentioned that the correct col for the ledge traverse is at 5800'. Future parties that want to attempt the route take note, this is the correct col for ledge traverse http://caltopo.com/m/4A52
  7. OK, so i spoke to someone at FF and got more info: It has primaloft gold in the shoulders and hood for more water resistant. The material is Pertex LT fabric with around 5 oz of fill and total weight around 19oz. The first run of this prototype, which this one is from, was running a bit small, hence why the M does not fit me i guess. So this may need to be listed as a S/M.
  8. The model is Picket, it is a prototype so you won't find info on their site. I will take a pic tonight and get it uploaded. It is a midweight jacket similar to the helios, but has zippered hand pockets and a adjustable drawstring on the hem, both of which the helios lacks.
  9. Brand NEW Feathered Friends Picket Down jacket, never used. Zippered hand pockets, zippered chest pocket, hood, cinch cord on hem. Color is blue. This is a sweet jacket, but i got it as a gift and it is a little small for me. Hoping to sell this to fund a larger jacket. Asking $250, originally was $330. Edited to add additional info from FF rep: OK, so i spoke to someone at FF and got more info: It has primaloft gold in the shoulders and hood for more water resistant. 10. Three O'Clock Rockfall

Would you recommend doing Silent Running or skipping it in favor of another route in the area?
  11. Winter destinations

Good thing about Jtree and red rock is that they are only about a 3 hour drive away from each other. You can always travel between them. Honestly, you never know what you are gonna get, i have been frozen in red rock around thanksgiving, and i have been there around christmas in a t shirt sweating balls. Same with Jtree.

That approach to nevermind wall is killer!
  13. Climbed saber on castle rock yesterday 7/6 I placed a #5 black master cam on pitch two. My partner remembers cleaning it but thinks it may have fallen off her harness onto one of the many ledges. It was ridiculously hot and our brains were melting so it may have also simply gotten left on route. It is conveniently unmarked, but should have a black metolius biner on it. Beer or other beverage of choice as reward.

  15. Best stove for France...

If not doing high altitude or cold weather camping then I like to use an alcohol stove in france. The fuel is available in any grocery or small epicerie in the cleaning section (L'alcool à brûler). Easy to find, super cheap, the stove is easy to fly with.
