  9. Bump Nothing wrong with this pack, great for a son in scouts. Used it myself for 5+ years in the scouts. Price reduced to 75. Great backpack, a lot of space
  10. I've been up to 11,000 ft at the flats twice this year trying to summit but either bad weather or the route collapsed. I've done Helens and Adams. Plus I'm experienced with glacier travel. I'm interested Darren

  12. i wouldnt mind doing casaval ridge or avy gulch next spring. its hard finding a partner up in washington, or i may just decide to take a train down there, we'll see. just me that would be a lot of gear id have to bring.

  14. Hey CC I'm looking for a sleeping bag either 0 or a -5 degree down sleeping bag. If anyone is selling one I am very interested. It would have to be long (6'6) doesn't matter what side the zipper is on. Thanks CC Darren
  15. Trip: Mt St Helens Trifecta!! - Monitor Ridge Route Date: 8/13/2013 Trip Report: Hey everyone! Got my dad out of the house for once;) First time being out since January. His first time up St. Helens, and he is the second one in his family to do it (not including me) This was the first time we had no snow in the trail since July of 2011. Of course we had small glaciers of both sides of us heading on up, but the monitor Ridge was snow free. Made it up in about 4 hours. A lot of boulder scrambling and pumice. Little wind but it was nice up there. We had our binoculars so we were looking up towards Rainier and you could see the sun reflecting off of the windows at camp muir. Crazy! You could not see people but you could see the line in the snow. Poor helpless souls;) not a lot of people up there on st helens summit. for my third time this year i like this one more. easier but more adventure hoping and climbing over the boulders! I've done Helens 3 times in the last 3 seasons. I need to go in the fall for 4 summits of Helens in the 4 seasons. bring lots of water/gatorade. 1 hiking pole worked well.....I think 2 would get in the way. Start early it was hot around 11am. We started around 5. Of course it is a permit mountain starting may 15th. Next February go to http://www.mshinstitute.org/ and get your permit. Me heading on up! Crater rim with Mt. adams in the background Looking into the crater, steam coming out as always Good old friend back on the summit in heart Dad and lad Gear Notes: 1 hiking pole, Gatorade, I climbed it in tennis shoes. I would not think you would need hiking boots for this. Approach Notes: Climbers bivouac @ 3800 ft
  16. me and my team will be on the emmons route on the east side...who knows we may see each other on the summit!!
  17. hey everyone after a non summit climb to Rainier i decided to tone it down a bit and keep on conditioning. Looking if anyone would like to try Mt. Adams. I drive but i do not have a car, i use my parents. im free till august 23rd. let me know if anyone is interested Thanks CC Darren
  18. I would definitely recommend this trip for someone who wants a hard day push in the winter. Make sure you have good gear and weather is 100%. Don't want to be stuck on the mtn in a whiteout
  19. Great job! Awesome pics! Makes me want to go do the adams glacier now!
