  1. Yes please do! I've been itching for some climbing here! I need to skip school to get out;)
  2. It was a good day out! Don't get many of those in January!
  3. This has been on CC and NWhikers for a while. I have used it all my Boy Scout years and it is a great pack for young boys ready to explore. Bought it for around 200, selling it for 50. Good pack, nothing broken. • Excellent for multi-day hikes • Good for week long treks • Got a son in scouts? This bag will be a good choice for young scouts • No broken ties or buckles • Instructions/components included
  4. You said you needed a medium, well sadly mine is a large. It's the big black one
  5. Be careful of the avalanche warnings up there! Mt. Hood got a good dose of 30+ inches the last couple days
  6. It's just north/northwest of Rainier off of 410. The turnoff is right before Dalles Campground
  7. http://www.crowdrise.com/3Summits2014Climbers/fundraiser/darrenchromey Hey everyone! I'm climbing Rainier via the Kautz Route this year with a group called "3 Summits for Nepal." The money goes to building new schools for the children in the khumbu valley. Last year they raised over 43,000 dollars! Open the link for more information. If you have any questions feel free to ask! Thanks so much!

  10. Mt. Ellinor (Summer Route) Another Juneuary Trip! Date: 1/25/2014 Trip Report: Hey everyone! Its June! wait what?? that didn't make sense!! yes its 50 degrees out and warm! The summer route is melted out in most spots on Mt. Ellinor. I had my boots and crampons but people were marching up in their running shoes. For my first time being up there it was amazing! Of course I did not want to leave. Took us about 4 hours to get up to the top and then 2 back down. Slushy snow as usual coming down. We decided to park in the lower winter parking lot and gave us another 1000 feet to climb. We needed to prepare ourselves this summer! The snow was good, my partner had micro spikes, I had crampons and big ol mountaineering boots;) people were climbing up in running shoes so of course I over looked a June day in January. Good day overall! Very warm! For both of us it was our first times being up at the summit. My partner had tried last year but didn't make it. There were a lot of switchbacks which made the elevation gain fast. We could see Mt. Olympus, Baker, Glacier Peak, Seattle poking through the clouds, Rainier, and Adams. Il let the pictures do the rest of the talking Summer route poking out of the snow! Looking down at the route up and Lake Cushman At the top getting great views of the Olympics! My climbing buddies for the day!! St James rising towards the heavens! Mt. Washington in front, Mt. Constance behind, and Baker poking out Puget Sound and Rainier point out of the haze Gear Notes: Northwest Forest Pass or Olympic National Park Pass light clothing and sunscreen on a January day;) Approach Notes: Winter or Summer Route? Take your pick!
  11. With all the snow that has been piling up, it will be a good time this year. Just kidding...there is no snow up there...their drought has hit mt. Shasta hard. It will likely be a scramble up this year. Or grab the last years of Shasta's glacier on the north side! http://news.yahoo.com/bare-mount-shasta-reveals-california-drought-severity-193653752.html
