I disagree with the connection that convention=respect Respecting the mountains is about knowledge that they are bigger than you and your experience alone. I don’t think that going fast or light or in a smash and grab style is disrespectful if you are knowledgeable regarding the decisions you are making, as I would suspect (from cruising their blogs) that these guys are. I admire what these guys are doing out in the Wasatch and appreciate them bringing their efforts to push boundaries and advance mountaineering here.
