Oh, thats great! I'm glad you got to use it. The space was a little cozy for 4, but we were happy and warm. I think we started digging around 1pm and finished just before 4.

After the wind destroyed our tent, we were forced to dig in at illumination saddle. It's a nice cave. I hope some other folks can get use out of it.

It's really hard to judge what the snow will be like next weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if the upper gully is still filled with hard icy snow. You might have to end on the SE rib like we did. If you have novices with you, I would suggest bringing some cams and several very long slings. We rappelled of the old slings in place but I wouldn't really suggest it. Good Luck! Also, a 60 meter rope is probably ideal. Our 30 was a bit short.

Trip: Mount Shuksan - Sulfide Glacier - Day Hike Date: 7/23/2011 Trip Report: [video:youtube]aBMDIjzcz48 Matt Colleen and I climbed Shuksan on Saturday starting at 1:35 am. We traversed along the west side of the glacier to avoid the necessity of roping up. At 8:00 am we found that the upper half of the scramble on the pyramid was too icy to ascend without ice tools so we followed the southeast rib the rest of the way to the summit. That's correct. I've been thinking about joining CC for a few years now. Today I finally did it so I thought I would start with a few old TR's and some new ones too.

Trip: Mount Olympus (highpoint of Greece) - traverse from Skala Date: 7/13/2011 Trip Report: I thought it would be cool to climb the "mountain of the gods", so I did. Sorry, I know links to other sites are lame, but whatever, read the story here.

Trip: Eldorado - day hike - Standard Date: 3/5/2011 Trip Report: It's a long day with snowshoes but well worth the effort. In most cases, the knife-edge is wider during the winter. I know links to other sites suck, but here is the full story.
