  1. Yeah, I was home (Sisters) last week and I saw we hadn't had snow in a while. If the inversion holds until the 28th, I'm hoping the chances of avalanche are pretty low. Is that a safe assumption?
  2. My buddy and I were planning a trip up the 11 o clock Couloir on Broken Top when he suggested we try skiing in and climbing North Sister instead. I wasn't sure what route he's thinking of, but it looks like Early Morning Couloir is an option. I know very little about this route. Does this route join up with the Bowling Alley? Are there other options from Pole Creek Trailhead for ascent or descent? These are broad questions, but I'm not finding as much information as I had hoped from TRs and such in the winter.
  3. I just stumbled upon a steal for some planks to get me started in the touring world (K2 Shuksans, $25!). They were part of an ebay auction I did not expect to win (because of the ridiculous steal I got them for) and I am unprepared financially for getting them set up for a nice AT setup. After discovering that my options for mountaineering boot compatible bindings where much more than just Silvretta 404s by checking out this site: http://www.wildsnow.com/backcountry-skiing-history/binding-museum/ I realized I just need to ask what is available rather than search every model available. So if you've got some Petzl 8007's, Marker M Tour's or anything else in the dirt cheap range, I'd love to know about them.
  4. I've done that route up, but I would agree with Chrisr62 that this would probably be a good time to practice roped travel. Following the line up Hayden is crevasse free (I've never seen anything on the north edge). Just shoot for Prouty and you'll be fine.
  5. Planning on climbing North sometime the first week in June. Would appreciate any further beta.
