  2. Looking to trade a black Rab Xenon, mens Medium, for an Arteryx Atom Lt, Patagonia nano air, or similar breathable insulation. I actually ended up with two of these - one well used, and one new with tags, but with a small tear on the hood (easily fixed with repair tape). Willing to trade either version for a breathable insulated jacket in similar condition, and/or do the trade plus some cash. Any takers?
  3. Rab Muztag jacket, new with tags, in size L. Light, breathable eVent shell weighing in at ~12oz. Retails for $300. 5 star review from Alpinist magazine. See specs here: https://rab.equipment/eu/muztag-jacket See review here: http://www.alpinist.com/doc/web15x/ms-dt-rab-muztag-jacket
  4. Rab Sharp Edge mountaineering shell, new with tags. Made with new Pertex Shield AP (for "air permeable"), which is super breathable, soft, and stretchy. Full details here: https://rab.equipment/us/mens/waterproof/sharp-edge-jacket I reached out to Rab to ask about Shield AP, because I could hardly find any info about it on google, and they said "Shield AP is extremely breathable with an MVTR of 40,000 which is far higher than any of our other hardshells, it is indeed direct venting. As far as I am aware Shield AP is very new indeed, I'm not aware of anyone else using it in the industry as of yet (I may be wrong though). We've tested it to some fantastic results, I'd go as far to say that it could be the most durable, waterproof & breathable fabric we use."
  5. Trip: Mt. Hood - Pearly Gates Date: 5/27/2016 Trip Report: Drove through clouds to the Timberline lodge and started walking at 2am. Left the clouds and moisture behind along with most of the wind after about 30min of walking as the lifts came into view. At this point it was amazing with clouds below, clear skies above and enough moonlight to turn of headlamps. After the top of the lifts the snow was perfect "Styrofoam" consistency and made for easy travel as the terrain steepened approaching crater rock. The Hogsback provided a straightforward approach to the Pearly gates. The bergschrund was open (about 2ft wide) and avoidable by taking a sharp right traverse below the bergschrund around its climber's right edge. One team was ahead of us going up the right side of the gates and we followed shortly after without roping up. One ax and one ax one tool are both viable strategies. We topped out around 6:45am to great views.
