  1. I think my high altitude days are over and have deicided to sell my high altitude boots. If you have any plans to head up to 8000 meters, Denali or Antarctica this is the boot for you. The boots same some mild cosmetic wear on the exterior but nothing that effects performance. The soles of the boots have really only touched earth 5 or 6 times for no more than an hour or two. The rest of the time they were in crampons or snow shoes.

I have to stress the warmth these boots provide. At one point in Alaska it was -30 F and my were almost too warm!

The tools are in terrific shape, picks have JUST been sharpened and slightly modified for better all around performance.

  3. Sadly, I need to sell an extra set of TCU's to pay off some student loans. the only cam that has seen a fall is the blue #3, only 2 feet or so. I apologize for the poor lighting in the pictures, the light in the house i am renting sucks. i have not aided on these cams.

  4. So i've decided to make a little wall in my backyard to train for climbing. however, i don't want to damage the holds i buy with my tools. Can anyone recommend a solution? I was thinking about using eyebolts. The wall will be at around 40 degrees so tools skating off could be an issue.

    Cheers!

  5. I hate being an impulse buyer sometimes. I bought the Batura 2.0's and really have no need for my Phantom Guides anymore. apart from a few scuffs and one broken pull tab on the lacing system which can be easily replaced they are in great condition.

  6. I bought an Absolute Zero Suit for an expedition to Broad Peak last summer but never actually got to use it due to bad weather forcing us to for go our ascent.

The only time it's been worn has been at home to make sure it fits and used as a pillow at camp 2 in a compression sack.

  7. I thought I could get away without having an adze in the alpine environment, I can't. So, I have decided to sell my Fusion ice tools in hopes of getting a pair of Cobra's or something. I have really only used these tools on one outing so they are in damn good condition. I am going to go ahead and say they are like new.

These are the new, green model. Not the old ones.

  8. Verizon gets coverage on about 90% of the mountain. AT&T blows. If you walk out to the point (near the drainage) you get service, if you face horse camp, standing to the right of it gets you service, all the way up climbers gully, and the little clearing in front of the ranger hut at helen.

  9. Pfft, of course you could Ivan. Back to the original question, seems like if it's too hot right in the valley, instead of staying the the sun all day (and they are good choices up thread it seems to me) maybe the East Buttress of Middle Cathedral or Braille Book might be in order. No one has mentioned Snake Dike, that would be another good one. Maybe 10 pitches, only 2 are 5.7, long hike to get it. Not "walls" per see, still long routes that kick ass and are fun and in your range. You don't say how much protection you have, but certainly Snake Dike should be in there:-). One of my fiends remembers which 2 pieces it takes and the rest is draws or slings. I think it's a something like a #7 wired nut and a 3/4" range cam, but I usually take a handful in that range and don't (want to) remember exact pieces. Snake Dike has the added bonus of being a great hike, amazing summit and unusual but super fun route as well. it's usually 10-15 degrees cooler up there than in the valley, so if its hot, maybe start hiking like at 4am or so.

Just going to touleme is a good idea if it's real hot below. Anyway, theres some more options.

Thanks! I've been looking at snake dike actually. i'd like something a little more sustained in terms of grade but it seems like a fun route.

As far as gear goes... I have a full set of TCU's, .5-2 camalot.

    Hey everyone!

I am hoping to go through Yosemite on my way back home. I really don't have enough rock protection to do any aid climbing but would still like to do some sort of big wall.

Could anyone recommend something? I am pretty unfamiliar with the valley and didn't really see anything on mountain project that caught my eye.

10+ pitches of around 5.7 would be awesome!

    Thanks a million,

    Kerr

  11. Hey all!

It is time to move up to more of an aggressive tool so I am parting ways with my Black Diamond Viper ice tools. They are the new model and I have only had them for a couple of seasons. I replaced the picks this recent winter so they have plenty of life left in them. There are some cosmetic scratches from rubbing against rock but nothing to impede performance in any way.

    268.00 for both!

  12. Great Condition!

I just need something a little lighter. I have two pairs of medium weight alpine boots and could really use a lightweight boot for summer guiding on Mt. Shasta so i'm parting ways with these. Can email pictures on request.

I am currently in Mt. Shasta if you are in the area and would like to come check them out.

    $315.00

  13. Not yet. I'm not 100% sure I have the job and didn't want to be too assuming. One of the other potentials and i talked briefly about it though so i am kind of getting on it to find out our possibilities.
