  1. Hey everyone! There is a possibility I will be working for Shasta Mountain Guides this coming summer. I have looked around a little and have only found apartments for rent and i will not be in town enough to need a full apartment. I was wondering if anyone knew of someone looking to rent out a room. I am really not looking for much. Really just a place to throw a futon down, leave a few art supplies and take a shower. Thank you in advance for any help or advice! Kerr Adams (817) 223-2226
  2. Hey Bryan! If things do not workout for me with Shasta Mountain Guides I'd love to meet up and knock off some routes Kerr
  3. Thanks everyone for the advice! I ended up not being able to climb at all. The avy danger was up relatively high.
  4. Hey everyone! I am heading to Shasta next month for the SMG 'guide training' and due to my academic schedule i am being forced to fly and the closest city i can fly in to is either Medford, OR or Redding, CA. Does anyone happen to know of there is a shuttle or bus from either city to and from Shasta? I did a little searching but couldn't really fine much. Thank you, Kerr
  5. This sucker is pretty much brand new!!! I used it for 3 nights on Broad Peak, eventually having to switch it out with my 0 degree base camp bag. TOO WARM FOR ME. It has been stored fully lofted in a normal climate. $400 (These are 700 new!) I can email pictures upon request.
  6. Thanks Jason! I really appreciate the advice. One more silly question but i just want to confirm... Taking the Pinnacle Trail from Reflection Lake would put in relatively close proximity to the north ridge correct?
  7. Hey everyone! I'm hoping to get some advice on approaching Pinnacle Peak in winter. Would you recommend taking the trail out of Narada Falls or walking along the road to Reflection Lake? Thanks! Kerr
  8. Thanks again for the advice everyone! DPS, I'm not too concerned about runout but i'll be sure and bring my knife blades and pitons. Thanks for the tip!
  9. Thanks! I was able to find some beta.
  10. Oh and do you think it's doable in a day?
  11. matt, Did you mean the East Ridge? I looked around a bit and could only find beta on the East. It has a similar rating so i thought you may have mixed them up. Thanks everyone!
  12. Thats a different national average sobo. Maybe a little above......Is that weird that I know that? ;D
  13. I apologize if i'm posting this is the wrong section. I'm thinking of doing Triple Couloirs in March. Does anyone know if i'll be able to make it to the trailhead or will the road be impassible? Do most people do it in a day? I really appreciate any advice. Thanks, Kerr Adams
  14. 6'0 is about the national male average right? Ohhh i don't know.
  15. What are you considering tall? I'm right at 6'0 and probably couldn't be more caucasian, although I suppose I could a take a couple classes. I do have pretty shaggy hair though. I'll be sure and get it cut ;D
  16. I am pretty unfamiliar with the WI and AI in and around MRNP (Is that right?) Im not really limited to the park i'm just hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I'll be in Ashford in March for the RMI "tryouts" and am hoping to get in a nice long ice climb before or after. Does anyone know of any 4-5 pitch ice climbs in the area? something in the 3-4 range would be ideal. something that tops out on a peak would be cool but i don't mind. I've already looked around Mountain Project but couldn't really find much. Thanks you.
  17. Hey everyone! I have guide try-outs for RMI in March and Shasta in April, but if that does not work out i'm hoping to spend a month or so climbing in the cascades independently. Would anyone be interested in getting together to knock off some nice long alpine routes? feel free to email me at Adamskerr@yahoo.com or call/text 817 223 2226
  18. Hey everybody, I am looking for a good pair of ice climbing crampons with vertical points, preferably modular. If you have any you're looking to get rid of please email me at Adamskerr@yahoo.com Thanks!
  19. Hey everybody! im looking for 2 or 3 medium sized pitons. anyone?.........anyone?
  20. I do realize this is mainly a PNW forum but i am hoping someone in the southwest will read this. I find it really hard to find dedicated climbers in my area. most of the "climbers" i run into my age are only interested in trying to get laid and climbing once or twice in the gym. I have a WFR course in boulder, CO from jan 6-16 and am hoping to knock off a few nice long alpine routes before then. if this sounds appealing to anyone please email me at Adamskerr@yahoo.com I have climbing experience in the cascades, rockies, alaska range, andes and karakoram sincerely, Kerr Adams
  21. Howdy everybody! In looking for some ice climbing crampons. Ideally ones that can be used as either dual or mono point. Gracias!
