  1. wow wtf! um u can have an admin change it? hello dustin b
  2. I use an olympus stylus 1050sw, because i got a great deal on it (150). Waterproof (great because i also fish), shockproof, crushproof, and a tap control to use with gloves. overall i love it. i wish i had an updated model with hd video. the camera does struggle under some more challenging light conditions, but it does real well in good light. my favorite thing is its size, large screen, battery life, and all metal construction. its bobmproof. It also uses a lightwieght battery and i own 5 of them, purchased for about 3 bucks each on ebay. Also, it uses a good memory format that is small and available for cheap.
  3. damn i really wish i was qualified for a gig like this. gotta just keep practicing and doin my thing i guess

    Being Sick

i am sick as well, but its not bad. just a cold with a runny nose
  5. yes, aquamira kills giardia. i use aquamira. if that water is very dirty (like desert potholes or glacial fed with silt, then use a fabric filter while filing ur containers. beware of ceramic filters cracking in freezing conditions.
  6. a quick search turns up some good info. "tuna heavy metal" It appears the best tuna is toll caught pacific albacore, which has about half the mercury level of a deep sea fish. With that said, it looks like tuna is relatively safe, I wonder if u can get any good trolled albacore at pikes place. I know they used to sell WILD steelhead, but we have recently put an end to that. Another option for fish would be to catch some rainbow trout locally and smoke it yourself. From a healthy lake the fish should be great for you.
  7. Not to be a P**** but don't eat too much Tuna. Like I think once a week is fine. Higher than that and you can start acquiring toxic levels of heavy metals. Hmm, I have not heard any studies on this but I tend to belive it. I take salmon, and at that I only take local hatchery fish that is smoked by a friend of mine. It makes a great cracker topping or is also good added into a garlic pasta. Can you link me to any of the stuff on tuna? I would like to read it.
  8. If you are on a budget tuna. If you are not on a budget smoked salmon. Assuming you eat fish that is. Smoked Salmon is lighter as well. Find a bar that you like, weather it be oat based or something else. look for bars with honey/peaut butter. Always of course take them out of the wrappers and repack without them. There is lots of good advice here already posted as well. I have devolped a personal favorite gorp. 3 types of choclate chips, dried fruits (raisin, craisn, mango), almonds, sunflowerseeds, and pretzels. So experiment and see what you like the most. I also take a salty mix as well that is "asian" flavored.
  9. Ok thanks pin, any other thoughts on the coloration?
  10. post some up! If your staying frozen, my favorite quigloo meal is frozen tater tots + frozen bacon. let the tots absorb the grease from the bacon as this cooks in a fry pan or pot. once it is well cooked melt in cheese + hotsuace (tapatio recommended). another fried whisperlite snack i like is frying up balls of flour and cheese + spices. top with hotsauce of course.

  12. this rock is in the spokane area. not sure how to resize it at this point.
  13. ok there is some confusion. im takling about the second picture as to the ID. the first pic is from turkey that I found trying to Id the second rock, which im just going to assume is paint and not some sort of strange oxidizing or something. i knew i would feel stupid! Seems like an odd rock to paint... anways, it looked like some solid rock that moves up and left of the main overhang.
  14. Some eye candy to start. and y question Hey I saw this rock today and was wondering if anyone knows whats going on with it? Maybe it is something simple? larger full res image http://i42.tinypic.com/ofngy9.jpg
  15. the steelhead will come back and you will go swimming?
  16. u could just make a small training board. there is also a possibilty of finding some good stone to climb at the beach. when i lived in PT there was some good bouldering on the east side of marristone island at the base of the bluffs. all somewhat soft sandstone, but still climable. there was even a few caves. best i can do if u want to make a daytrip there lots of good bouldering all over the cascades
  17. yes often times when u have lots of small fish the population stresses the food supply. The best things to do for an overpopulated lake is to take your limit and make a nice chowder in camp out of the small fish. lay 4 pinky sized twigs in the bottom of a frying pan/pot, then fill it half way to the top of the sticks with water. pput on the lid and steam the fish until the flesh starts to flake off, then pick out the bones. now u have a great fish base to use for chowder.
  18. props for single hooks do you debarb as well?
  19. ah yea spoons are heavy though worth there weight in food though if u plan to eat any fish. spoons are deadly.
  20. Spey cast Yes, I agree. You can spey cast on any rod. I spey with a 4/5 wt 4pc. I find it is simply better then the roll cast with a WF line. just watch this video if that made no sense
  21. does anyone around here fish at all? gotta love those secret back country lakes at the base of the cirque. I saw some big ass browns swimmin in Freemount Canyon... thought about rappin down with my rod but decided to just climb instead lol. Good way to spend a rainy rest day!
