I was going to use the down jacket here in Michigan a few year back when the trip I was planning on with my wife was canceled because of a stem cell replacement for my multiple myeloma cancer I am dealing with. Purchased this jacket in 2005 (“old model”). The jacket has 7 snaps with two at the neck to form a standup collar as well as a shirt tail back that drops the back about 2 inches longer than the front.. The jacket has been hanging in the hall closet ever since I had the transplant and I forgot I had it. The jacket is in PRISTINE CONDITION as all of the equipment I have sold on BPL in the past, i.e. no rips, tears, smells, stains etc. The jacket fits me well as I am: Weight: 160 lbs, Height: 5’ – 10”, Chest: 37.5”, Waist: 36”, and Sleeve Length: 33.

While this parka is not in the category of backpacking light thermal equipment, it is a piece of clothing for someone who might have an alternative use for it. This is a vintage parka made by a company that specialized in down equipment that I would like to get out of my closet since there is no hope of me using it since I am dealing with multiple myeloma cancer. It is in beautiful condition. I have used it can attest to its cold weather capabilities and durability. This parka is the finest article of cold weather, high-altitude equipment in its day. For 30 years, it became the gold standard for high-altitude gear, chosen by many of the century's greatest expeditions, including several that made epic first ascents.

The reason that I am selling the Feathered Friends Vireo Sleeping Bag is my multiple myeloma cancer dx. With this current issue I am dealing with, I foresee it will never be used as planned. This bag has been stored in a cloth bag in my closet in new condition since I purchased it.
The Vireo was designed with alpine climbers in mind. It has no zipper, no hood, a variable down fill and weighs only 16 ounces. A variable down fill means that the lower part of the bag has more down fill (rated to 25) and the upper section has less fill (a 45 rating). It is designed to be used with the Volant Jacket (or Hooded Helios or Frontpoint parka) for full protection. Used without the jacket it becomes a summer bag.
