  1. I shipped MH the jacket last Friday and I got it back today. It looks like they restitched the whole jacket. Not a gap anywhere and all seams are perfect. You can not tell any work was even done and they overnighted it back to me.
  2. Well MH was very helpful on the phone and the jacket is rocketing back to them as we speak. I have some plans that were to include the jacket toward the end of this month and MH said they would try to get the jacket back in time. They gave me specific instructions in order to give the repair/return priority in order to accommodate me. So far so good and judging by the stitching on the jacket I received I think someone had a really bad day in production.
  3. You make an excellent point and in all fairness I have not yet given MH a chance to fix the jacket. Just bummed, that's all.
  4. It bums me out to say this but my brand new MH Compressor Hoodie is falling apart after only three light uses. The stitching is coming out in a bunch of places. I'm debating whether or not to have my wife just fix it but after looking at every stitch I get the sinking feeling I'm going to be dealing with this for the rest of the jacket's life. Aside from where the stitching has flat out split there are obvious gaps in the rest.
  5. FS. Outdoor Research Large Eternal Softshell in Peat (earthy green, depending on lighting looks greenish brown). Worn about a dozen times casually. No rips, abrasions, stains, etc. $75 plus shipping OBO. Money Order or Paypal (+4%) only. This is a great jacket but I've found that its very difficult to wear 6 or 7 different Softshells at one time especially when they are the same jacket (tongue in cheek). Let me know if you would like any more detailed pictures. I can be contacted via email through this site or via PM. SOLD
  6. Fortunately this doesn't change the hunting regulations so based on your only negative experience you should still be good to go in National Parks.
  7. Admittedly in my haste I mixed National Forest with National Park. However, hunting does exist within National Parks, just not on the same basis. Usually its done by state/federal hunters in a resource management form, not over the counter permit and tag. As far as State's rights goes, the new law reverts regulation to the state while enforcement remains federal. If the state doesn't want CCW in parks they can create state level regulation specifically or do as California does and not issue permits. Personally I'd like to see states have full control over the parks, which is where my interests lie, not in trying to convince you that you should or should not carry a gun.
  8. What do Federal rights have to do with a State? It may be a National Park but its within a state. Limiting the power and scope of the Federal Government is never bad, it keeps New Yorkers from telling Alaskans what they should or should not do and vice versa. If this turns into an issue then the states can control it, one hot spot should not effect the rest of the country. We don't live in a black and white world, lets not force each other to use broad brushes. We have entirely too much of that already. Again, I don't expect this to change anything, there won't be ice cream trucks selling AK's as a result. Just go about your business, I bet you'll still find the same accommodating outdoors-men (and women) you always have.
  9. Regardless of which side of the firearm issue you're on this boils down to State's rights. Those that are more invested in firearms restrictions may not see it but this opens doors to other laws set by the federal government that really should be set by the state (controlled substances for example). As far as my personal opinion, I don't see this really effecting anyone. Hunters could always hunt in national parks so long as they had the correct tags and licenses, poachers will continue to poach (that's why they're called poachers). In general most climbers and hikers aren't gun people and aren't going to add the additional weight. Those that do will be licensed by the state and can carry everywhere else anyway (like it or not). Again, I see this as one more empowerment to the state and one less restriction of the federal government. FWIW, CYA, IMHO, Etc Etc Etc.
  10. I got an email from Eric through the Cascade Mountaineers and forwarded it to everyone I know. Aside from that I stopped in and bought some fastdraws.
  11. Did a search but didn't see anything. Looking for climbing partners for regular climbing at Smith Rock. I'm a newer climber and looking to improve through experience. Have equipment but need to climb more. Anyone interested or know of any groups that climb weekend or Monday/Friday mornings please drop me an email. Thanks.
