Ok so heres my view. If i were on Hood, of course i would have a beacon and want my partner to have one. Do i think they should be required? Hells no! Plues... Beacons aint cheap and having them be mandatory would bring there prices way up.

Thanks everyone. Sorry Pete, I should have been more clear. Im talking about starting at the Snow Lakes TH and ending at the Lake Stuart TH (or the other way around). This might be a bit much for a snowshoe but maybe not.

Hmmm... Im now wondering how hard it would be to make a desing in a CAD program for picks and pop a few out on a CNC machine. Probably not very hard.

Has anyone snowshoed the Enchantments Lakes trail in the winter? Im just trying to find a good multi-day trip for around January 1st. Im not looking for anything that is technical enough to need a rope... Any ideas will help, thanks!
