  1. I wish you listed this a week earlier! Bump for a screaming deal!
  2. I would also like to know this
  3. Any recent news on these? I haven't seen them up in Canada yet
  4. what's the name of the liquidator you got the deal on the new cobras from on eBay? How are the vipers' hammers for pounding pins? Does the continuous curved shaft make it more difficult than say, the quark?
  5. Anyone else have one of these? They can't be that rare!! Interesting since it is so similar to the DAS. I've had mine since it first came out and love it. Used it in -20*C weather this weekend in the Rockies and it kept me warm.
  6. So the DAS has: Insulation: 170-g PrimaLoft® One in the body; 133-g PrimaLoft One in the hood and sleeves. And weighs 737 Grams (medium?) The Tango has: Insulation: PrimaLoft® One: 200g in the body for maximum core warmth, 133g in the underarms, collar, and back hem,100g in the arms and hood for mobility. And weighs 800 grams in medium... So given the DAS is $300 US and the Tango is $260 US, is the DAS worth the lower weight/lower warmth? Or is it just Patagonias name that gets you that price tag? I don't know how much a sacrifice 67 grams is as far as going light is...but at $40 more for less weight, the Tango seems like a better choice. Is it because it's only available in Canada and by mailorder, that the Tango isn't more popular? Thanks!
  7. Why are you selling the taakoons? How did you like them? Pros/Cons??
  8. Has anyone here tried the MEC Tango Belay parka? How does it compared to the DAS Parka or similar synthetic parkas for warm? I can't find any information on it, except one good review on the MEC website... http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442627213&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302699079&bmUID=1259869935391
  9. I really like the idea behind the verio, combined with a belay jacket. I may go that route...
  10. Did you decide on a bag, robpatterson? Interested in what you decide on...
  11. Old thread revival... Opinion on the new vipers for alpine? Is the cobra worth the $100/tool extra?
  12. Anyone here use MEC's tango belay jacket? How does it compare to the DAS or Wild Things belay jackets? Dane, using both the compressor and the patagonia puff, which do you prefer?
  13. Bringing up the dead Lots of good info here Anyone have extended experience with the (now discontinued) Grivel Taa-k-oon? How are they in the alpine? I know they work well on vertical and mixed climbs.
  14. Looking for a set of used, but not abused, Wild Country Rockcentrics/slung hexes. I don't intend to use them every climb, hence why I want them used instead of buying them new. Thanks!
  15. Is this on eBay also? Or is it someone elses?
  16. Missing the #1 friend in my rack. Looking for a used but not abused cam. Pref. tech friend. Thanks
  17. I plan on starting a list soon to be as prepared as possible. Where is the best place for beta for areas in the PNW? Are the guidebooks reliable? I guess a combination of beta from TR on this site, and the guidebooks, I should be good as far as info goes? Thanks for all the help everyone!
  18. Thanks for the replies. Sounds like early July is my best option as far as conditions go.
  19. I am looking at spending a month or so doing as much alpine and rock climbing as I can in the cascades this coming spring/summer. Just wondering when the best time is to get in as much alpine climbing in as possible, without worrying too much about being rained out or bad weather? I don't know where specifically, as I will be living out of my truck and tent. I have a range from end of April until the end of August/beginning of Sept... This will be my first time down in that area (I'm from Canada) so I thought you guys would be the best resource... Suggestions, comments, concerns? Thanks!
  20. Willing to ship to Alberta? How big are the patches, are they the ones at the footbox?
