  3. I'm head to tootsie roll falls this saturday, in Ellensburg. I have never been there before and its kinda small (30ft), but I hear its a good place to practice. It has been cold there and as far as I can tell no new snow. so if you or anyone wants to go let me know. With or with out tools is fine, but you'll need your own boots. 253 334 3372
  4. Here are some pic's of CYA and the dry tool wall. Everything was covered in snow making the dry tool wall tricky. The ice is not in, if your in the mood for placing pro, but ice all the way up (thin, thin, thin).
  5. skookum fall is not in yet. Lots of ice, but lots of water flowing. I drove up there to check it out. The road to the trail head is not plowed, and has a solid foot of snow on it. The ice might form up in the next few days because it still very cooled up there (18F @ 3pm), so there is hope. But thursday it might warm to 40, which most likely would finish it off tell the next cold snap. Ether way I'm hoping for Ice.
  6. Hey I know how you feel. Its a bit tough to convince the old gray hairs to take a newbe along. You know how it is every one is busy and most people have a few semi-perminet climbing partners. I fairly new to ice, but have gone out with some vet and I'm willing to go out with anyone willing to try hard, and who has a bit of (uncommmin') sense. Step one is get your own Ice tools. I searched around and got a set of BD vipers for under $200. It the one thing you must have to really get into the sport. Any 12 point crampons will work. With that said a good set of mono points are worth the money your looking $110 used plus or minus, or about $180 new. If the Ice comes in some were close I'd bring you out with out your own tools and we could set up a top rope. I'm out in Sumner I'm always looking for partners. Anyone who wants to go PM me.

  18. Monday the 6 2008 Snow creek wall 8 am. 5 pitches We got rained on, it was cold, it was slick, and it was great. This late in the year there isn't a lot of traffic on this wall; we shared it with one other team. It got a little tight a few times but everyone was super cool. This climb isn't for the faint of heart, as we were hiking in. Search and rescue was mid process helping a pair of climbers off the route, after spending the night up there. That must have been cold. I guess everyone was fine. I'm sure there pride was damaged a bit. You live you learn, and like these two sometimes you just get lucky. Search and rescue said the climber couldn't finish the climb, got off route, and then ran out of day light. And with no head lamps were screwed. Pm me if you want to go climbing this week I’m open. Maybe Vantage.
  19. Will drive. Wanted climbing partner. Would perfer north bend, but will go anywhere in the state, almost. Climbed in Leavenworth with "zonk" on wed, had a great time. We missed the rain woohoo. Weather is going to be clear across the state and about 65 deg. Call 253 334 3372
  20. Heading to Vantage, up for anything. Climbing up 5.10 or whatever.
