  1. Found on Chair Peak, East Face: Wild Country Friend cam 0.5. Let me know how it's marked and what draw was attached to it, and I'll find a way to get the gear back to you.
  2. Found lower part of a Black Diamond trekking or ski pole on Silver Star Glacier, May 29, 2016. Looks nearly brand new.
  3. Found a right hand Outdoor Research liner glove (women's M) on Silver Star Mountain trail, May 29, 2016.
  4. What route are you thinking of doing? I did Glacier via the Gerdine/Cool/Disappointment Peak Cleaver (aka "standard" route) over July 4th weekend. The transition from the Gerdine and Cool was still mostly bridged at the time, although my leg did punch through to above my knee on one of the crossings. I would say that the glaciers will probably still be in good condition for you this weekend without too many navigation shenanigans. There is plenty of running water if you camp at Glacier Gap or on the White Chuck Glacier basin.
  5. The Washington Alpine Club (WAC) Basic Class is now accepting applications from now until Sunday, January 25. Know of anyone who is interested in a fun yet comprehensive introduction to mountaineering? Please have them apply! This 13-week class covers backcountry skills, rock climbing, snow/glacier travel, and culminates in a climb of Mt Baker. More information about the application process and the class can be found at http://wacclass.org.
  6. Having been up there on July 29, I can confirm that the couloir is no longer usable. We did meet two guided groups who did use it, but they were comfortable with crawling around in the moat and called it "grovelly." We used the bypass gully just climber's left of the couloir. The best beta for the gully bypass is on SummitPost and on Steph Abegg's site. The gully isn't as bad as I thought it would be. The rock is a bit loose though, and depending on your comfort level with this kind of terrain, you may want to simul-climb it but I do know that many have scrambled this just fine.
  7. Erik, Thanks for the beta! Heading out there this weekend. If I see your rope, I'll try to get it back to you. -Jen
