  1. Thanks for the info Godskid, if it opens back up might need to hit that up!
  2. I called the ranger office today and got some news on the roads. If you are coming from Randle you should be fine. If you don't have a high clearance vehicle they said the best route is to take #23 to #21 to #56 to #5603 and finally to #2329. If you are coming from the south you are out of luck. #23 is closed and #25 is closed near Saint Helens. This makes the most direct route coming into Randle from I-5 via 12.
  3. The road is clear of snow up to the campground: http://www.fs.fed.us/gpnf/recreation/current-conditions/mta-climbing-report.shtml So hopefully this fire will die out and it will get reopened.
  4. zootown, You can camp at Marble Mountain. There appeared to be several places in the woods around the parking lot to set up tents, although when I was up there on the 4th I just slept in my car. If you want to go up a ways there is a nice clearing east of Chocolate Falls that I saw some people using for a campsite. -PHIXIT
  5. Hey Guys, Was wondering if there were any more updates on current road/mountain conditions? I have a permit to climb this one on July 4th, do you guys think I should use the Worm Flows route? I am from the east coast so this would actually be my first real snow climb so any pointers you guys have would be great. I have an ice axe and crampons, but should I rent some snowshoes? I also have some non-hiker, but athletic friends that got permits as well (back when we thought it would be a normal summer climb). Should they sit it out? Sorry for all the questions just want to learn as much as I can before I go for the summit. Thanks! -PHIXIT
